Beware: Failing to eat enough protein may cause you to gain weight, say researchers from Australia. In the study, people who consumed 10 percent of their diet as protein took in 1,000 more calories over the course of 4 days than those who consumed 15 percent from protein. The lower-protein group probably wasn’t as satiated, the scientists say.
Eat 1 gram of protein for every pound of body weight, but always consult your healthcare professional to find out the appropriate amount for you.
