It happens to all of us. You have an appointment, but totally forget about it. You’re feeling better, you’re too tired, you got stuck at work, your car broke down, etc. Life happens. We are all busy with responsibilities, and oftentimes, things come up which are out of our control. But that still doesn’t mean it’s “okay” to miss your appointment, or cancel at the last minute. Physiotherapy clinics have the daunting task of dealing with daily last-minute cancellations, patients wandering in late and no-shows. As a patient, you likely don’t look at the big picture. By missing your appointment, you are hurting three individuals:
- Your therapist who now has an unpaid gap in their schedule;
- Other patients who would have liked to come in, but couldn’t get an appointment;
- Yourself, since you are not getting the treatment you need.
At Sheddon Physiotherapy and Sports Clinic we have a standard cancellation policy that EVERY patient is required to read and sign on their first visit.
In the event that you need to cancel your appointment, please be courteous and give the clinic 24 hours notice. A full charge will be added to your account for cancellations with less than 24 hours or no shows. This policy ensures that we are available to meet the needs of all our clients effectively.
At Sheddon Physiotherapy and Sports Clinic we work hard to ensure that you have an appointment time that is convenient for you, and we remind you of your appointments (appointment cards, e-mail reminders, etc). In return, we expect patients to value and respect the therapists’ time and honour their commitment to an appointment.
