You have been scheduled for an in person appointment with one of our professionals at the clinic. Here’s what you need to do to ensure the health and safety of you and our staff.

Complete the self-screening checklist here to ensure you are able to attend your appointment. Please call us if you need to reschedule. As always we will waive the late cancelation fee if you are sick. Please stay at home if you are unwell, we will do the same.

A few things to do prior to leaving home

Ensure you completed and emailed any forms sent to you by your therapist or admin team. You must wear a reusable cloth or disposable mask to enter the clinic. Should you not have access to one, the clinic has them available for sale. We suggest you use your washroom at home as the facilities at the clinic are public. Please dress appropriately for your treatment so there isn’t a need to change. We request that you do not bring any personal belonging into the clinic. This includes, purses, coats, water bottles etc. Only minors and patients requiring assistance may bring a companion. All others companions will not be permitted in the clinic.

If this is your first appointment (click to see the infographic)

You will have been sent a set of intake forms to complete and email back to Admin@sheddonphysio.com. If you are a returning patient for an assessment a Consent to Treat form would have been sent. If you have any issues completing these forms, please reach out to our admin team to assistance. Please ensure these forms are sent to us prior to your appointment.

Parking

As per usual please park in the designated Sheddon Physiotherapy spots. We have a number directly out front of the building and some on the south side of the building wrapping around to the back of the building.

Arrival to the clinic

Please arrive on time for your appointment. Due to strict timelines, and restrictions on the number of patients allowed in the clinic at any time, we may not be able to accommodate any late arrivals. We request that you wait in your car until your appointment time, as the waiting room has been closed.

I’m here, it’s almost my appointment time, what’s next?

Before entering the building please don your mask. There are COVID-19 self-screening signs throughout the building and just outside our clinic door. Please ensure you have answered NO to all questions. If not, we will happily reschedule your appointment. We have taken extra steps to ensure the health and safety of our staff and patients. Additional cleaning routines with government approved COVID effective disinfectants, the wearing of PPE, and contactless payment options, are but a few. Even with these processes in place we suggest that you take extra care; use elbows to press the automatic door openers, wash your hands often, and when entering the clinic sanitize your hands at our sanitizing stations (on the way in and on the way out)

Entering the clinic.

You’ll be wearing your mask, so our admin team may not recognize you. They will confirm if you have answered the COVID self-screening questions. They will likely process your appointment fee at this time, unless they are dealing with another patient. Once processed they will ask you to sanitize your hands and proceed to the furthest red X to await your therapist. We have established a few options for contactless payment. You can provide us with your credit card information and have it securely stored in our clinics operating platform. We can automatically process the payment when you arrive, and then email you your paid receipt. Alternatively, Visa, MC and Amex can now be tapped. Debit card will still require you to key in your password. All receipts will be emailed. As usual your upcoming appointments will be printed on the bottom of your receipt. At this point in time we will not be accepting cash. Please speak with the admin if this is an issue.

How different will my appointment be with all these changes?

Even though your therapy zone will be your personal space for your appointment please keep your mask on. Cleaned equipment will be brought to you, and will be thoroughly cleaned after your use. You should stay in your treatment zone. Please remove your shoes before getting onto the treatment table. Do not use the additional table in your zone as a place to store any belongings. The PTA may be in and out to assist your therapist with your treatment, but rest assured, they will have washed their hands thoroughly before assisting. Exercises will be reviewed for proper technique, but we request that you complete your exercises in the comfort of your home.

How can I make rebooking easier?

The front desk admin team can book your future appointments. Before finishing your appointment with your therapist please ask, How often should I should I be coming. Would a combination of Telehealth and in-person be best for me? We can book multiple appointments for you. You can also book your appointments through your patient portal profile. If you haven’t yet set up your patient portal account let the front desk know and they will email you a personal link to your profile.

What should I wear?

How to dress may depend on the type of injury and area involved. Generally, shorts and a tank top or t-shirt will work well. As mentioned previously we request that you wear what you will be treated in to your appointment.
